I caught up with Laurie Alderton at the Sydney Motorcycle Show today
Laurie looked good certainly for 76.

He is still fixing frames!
I was thinking after we finished talking that Laurie might be good at modifying a frame to Flattrack specs similar to what Pete is doing to his RD
Perfect for someone without Pete's skill sets.

  Good blokes .

He still scoots around pretty good on a bike too, he rode the Rockley Vinduro a couple of years ago and while I stopped to chat in between laps he managed to finish his 5 laps while I had only finished 3

We used him as our first www.verivinduro.com.au quiz and a few managed to recognize him...

Quiz number 2 seems to have people stumped though as we have only had one reply so far...

Yeah , I think it would have to be Geoff Ballard as well. It mentions in the quiz, that the rider has had associations with Can Am, Maico, KTM, Honda and Yamaha. But I think that Geoff Ballard also rode a Kawasaki KX500 at a Weipa Croc Run Enduro in '83 or '84. He then rode the KX to the tip of Cape York, after the event with a group of other riders. I'm pretty sure that this is a picture of Geoff on the KX, as the rider has a distinctive moustache ( which is appropriate , being Movember and all  ;)  :) ).

I think Geoff rode a KDX/KX 200 hybrid in the A4DE and possible the ISDE back in the 80's. I recall him riding it the Granville Supercross in full enduro trim and qualifying for the final.

Both Laurie and Geoff Ballard were at last years Conondale classic in QLD.
Geoff did really well up there placing inside the top 5 a few times.
Theres a nice youtube clip off Geoff hounding Simon Healy in the 1st pro moto for 1st place
but sadly after 10 mins or so the Maico throws a primary chain ...
Dont no how to put up the Youtube link but someone else might know ???
Ive watched it a few hundred times  ;D Great footage.
