'80's 80 front end.
« on: October 11, 2013, 10:27:32 pm »
Hi All,
I'm doing some suspension work to my daughters xr/crf 80 and I'm chasing a complete front end (forks and triple at least) from a 1980's mini, conventional drum version preferred, but will take disc version if needed...TIA.

I have a front end off an RM80 ( around about a Z model I think - conical hub with straight pull spokes) somewhere. Just have to find it and see if I have the backing plate to suit the wheel. Fork tubes were sprayed up with Tectyl, so chrome should still be good. For triples, forks, front wheel and axle, I want about $80, if you are interested. Will be away with work until Wednesday.

Sounds good thanks, If axle is 12mm, I could get away with just forks and triple's. See how you get on.

Finally found the time to get up into the roof of my shed and find the RM80 front end. Unfortunately, the fork tubes do not live up to my recollections and they have some rust pitting. The axle size is only 10mm and I don't have a backing plate for the wheel.. So, this probably won't suit you for what you want to do. Sorry about that.
