Trackmaster tank and seat
« on: October 31, 2013, 07:08:03 pm »
Just starting on the restoration of a 1972 Trackmaster, flat tracker. It originally had a BSA B50 in it but will now house a CCM biggie. It does not have a seat or tail/seat arrangement. Looking for the older style curved style top steel tank not the angular newer types. Would imagine Matcho Mick will have a tail seat arrangement that will suit but does anyone have any contacts in the States who can supply the tank. Tried one bloke on the Vintage Flat Track site but 4 weeks later I have not had a reply.

Hey Sliderulz
Only imported the rolling frame which I got at a fair price, The B50  was stated to have all the good bits and built by a top engine builder but made the project too expensive, especially when I have an ex Russell Bergmier CCM Sidecar motor which won some Vic titles and placed in the Aus titles in the Junior section. Hope to complete and have the son pilot it next year.

Hey Jim
Probably the same one. Had quite a time getting it here, but I was pretty happy with its condition       (always a worry buying off a photo) With the ccm motor I only needed the rolling frame. I'm interested in a steel tank also. Bloke on VFT advertises them in the racers products section but can't get him to answer back. If you have a contact maybe 2 tanks might be the go. Just spent 12 maths researching and getting a gentleman in the uk to send me some original weslake pressed half tanks so I'm up for a bit of exploring. Hope to get it built by next season for me to have a little ride but in reality to let the 22 year son to wring its neck. Must drop in and have a cuppa one day I reckon we have a few interests in common.
