17.5" shocks for a KLX250
« on: September 20, 2013, 11:23:28 PM »
Hi All

I Just came across this today: The YAMAHA NYTRO MTX snowmobile uses 17.5" front shocks. Some of those are quite fancy.

Has anyone ever tried them out on a KLX 250?

Regards
David

Wonder how much shaft travel they have, has to be 150ish mm

I've tried Fox snowmobile shocks in 16.5" on my KX, they are over damped & over sprung, would need a bit of work to get them dialled-in.

Ohlins for a red Rocket CR250 are on one of my KLX's,  dropped the legs a touch to match and work fine, think they have 5'5" movement. Originals are 18.25 with 6.25" or something like that. Bit Bambilike as Klx shocks often have bent shafts.
