USA spec '89 KX500 fork swap

I have an '89 CR500 and I find the original usd forks to be very harsh, so I intend on fitting a set of '89 USA spec KX500 (46mm conventional forks). Has anyone else here done this conversion and am I going to have dramas with having to change the stem on the KX triple clamps ? I have heard that XR650s use the same size forks, so it may be easier to use a set of XR650 triples on my CR.

I have heard of triple clamps having sleeves made to allow for usd's to be converted to right way up forks.
I'm not sure of the I.D. of the Honda triple clamps, but a alloy bush shouldn't be to hard for someone to turn something up.

I have a pair of  KX 500 tripleclamps  if you are interested .

Thanks Walter, but I bought the '89 KX500 triple clamps with the forks when I got them from US ebay. So if I need to modify anything, it will just be the stem. Seems strange that the USA '89 KX models got conventional forks, when the rest of the world got usd forks on their KXs. But apparently, the 46mm conventional forks work really well.

Certainly makes it easy to pick an imported later modelled bike. And there are a few.

I guess that means that I can put 89RM250 Forks on my 89 RM125 (which has 46mm Conventionals)....
