kDX200 on Swapmeet.
« on: September 18, 2013, 10:13:01 am »
It's a bit of a "pig in a poke" situation with unknown engine condition but for $300 US it's still only cost $1300 or so landed here so it might be a good deal. A mate had one of these in the day and I recall it being a great little bike. I reckon this is the ideal vinduro mount.

FOR SALE

1983 Kawasaki KDX200. Previous owner told me it "needed a piston" and he had top end apart. When I arrived to purchase, the whole bike was complete and assembled as you see it and he said he "put it back together to sell it", but didn't want to spend the $ to fix it. It is missing the clutch cable and it won't kick over from sitting. Suspension needs servicing, needs tires and plastics are beat up. Has CA title in my name and current Green sticker. Great for restore or builder woods bike.

Asking $300.00 or best offer. Will consider trades for (ONLY) 1972/73 Yamaha LT-2/3 Enduro or 1980/81 IT175 or 1978/79 YZ125 in similar condition. Prefer pick up at my house in San Diego county, but might consider delivery on a swap within easy driving distance of above bikes.

thanks.

Fantastic bikes, but you can buy a good one here for $1300, maybe a little more.

I didn't know they were so cheap :-[. They're indeed great little bikes, I recall sharing my mates KDX in a Pony Express back in 83 and remember thinking at the time how much fun it was compared to my 490 GS Maico.  I remember Geoff Ballard loving the 200, he even qualified for the final of the Granville Speedway Supercross on one in full ISDE trim . If I didn't have my IT250J half gussied up for vinduro fun I'd be out looking for one of these.

I've got a coupe of 84 KDX200's?  One complete runner that you could ride tomorrow and another with the engine out but all there.

I got $2k for mine, eventually.
Complete running bike with all consumables in good nick, and freshly rebuilt suspension with KDX250 springs at both ends, two excellent genuine side covers.
Also included was a nearly complete second bike with rebuilt motor, KX125 ignition, KX disc front, RM-X shock, etc.
Then there was a ton of spares: motors, frames, wheels, tanks, swing arms, blah blah.

Jesus thank Nathan .. I was going to ask $100K for mine but now that seems somewhat unachievable  ;D
