Boat tail Pursang on Marks Swapmeet
« on: September 18, 2013, 10:34:09 am »
You can go either way with this old gem.....build it up as a pre 70 class dirt tracker which it was originally built for as a predecessor to the Astro, or fit a 21" front wheel and build it up as a cool and competitive pre 70/250 motocrosser. They don't come up all that often any more, especially in the dirt tracker guise. I've recently dealt with the seller and he's pretty accommodating but he's a long way from the Long Beach shipping port.

1968 Bultaco Pursang, 250 cc, Model 48 .
this bike is mostly all there? missing carb. air intake system and side number plates, Front brake lever, cable, brake shoes and shaft ?
This Pursang came into the U.S. with a 19" front wheel and universal tires and was built for U.S TT-Scrambles and Flattrack ? The Mod.42, Mod 48,and Mod 68 dominated TT-Scramble's, short track, and flat track 250cc class for many year's . I know because I rode one from 1967 to 1971 and did my share of first place . I saw a Mod 42 win Daytona in the early eighty's over all the newer bikes, there was NO Vintage class then. This 250 cc Pursang need's a complete restoration, but there is a lot to work with and when finished right will win many AHRMA Flat track and Short track race's $800. Rich.T 812-236-7903

I just noticed the 56/57 Corvette in the shed. Richard's obviously a man of taste and substance. :)
