1948 ES2 NORTON

Would a 1948 ES2 Norton be any good for pre60?....or is the engine the only thing you would use?....what's one worth that's been sitting, pulled apart 40 years ago and in boxes?...I know, how long is a piece of string but it may be worth considering. I know nothing about these bikes so any help would be grateful, cheers in advance.

The Norton motor would be great fitted to a BSA frame but in its plunger or rigid rear end mode that dicky hip of yours would be trying to exit through your arse after half a lap. Great engine and gearbox though, it'd be a serious bit of kit in a BSA frame.

Have seen some seriously quick ES2 road racers so getting the motor right shouldn't be a biggie, a later frame would be a must though to actually have some rear suspension

Our old mate Klub Kevlar Grand Poobar Frank from Franks Cranks is the bloke to talk to about these motors. He's built a lot of them over the years including the Inter/Manx  motor in his Metisse and his road race Manx. If you don't want it I'm interested.
