Arizona Mikes 495 KTM.
« on: August 02, 2013, 03:14:27 pm »
Surprisingly for old Mike, this bike doesn't seem to be one of Heinz Kinigadners works Katos. Instead it looks to be a nicely built and well priced 495.

I bow to your KTM knowledge Slakey.......is it me or is that a big old flat spot at 2 o'clock on the back wheel. If so it'd appear that the bike has sat with a flat for quite a while.

KTM 495 always come with flat spots on rear rims.
People forget that these bikes are very dam fast ( still hold the land speed record for dirt bikes) Brad and I had one that did flat 11's over the 1/4 mile.
Guess what' whilst at warp speed with flimsy drum brakes stuff gets hit hard very hard ;)

Yes Firko...but it's actually a 1980 fitted with a 495 engine. Imo a better racer would be a 1981 with the 420 engine.  Jad one in 02 wasn't worth much then,
Life is suddenly very Monaro
