Yeh, thats what I recall too. He went 1-1 & took the 1st 500 moto too, then faded, probably exhausted. I was there too.
Some of the WA guys may remember Bevan Blackers came all the way from WA & was creaming the 250 class on his AW, IIRC when his front spokes loosened dramatically & lost the title. Not sure if he finished or not.
Gary Flood was well off the pace, trying to adjust to the KTM &/or sort it.
