KLX250 on Marks - price worth it just for the parts

A nice KLX with lots of good bits on it.  Worth buying just for the parts

FOR SALE

1979 Kawasaki KLX 4 stroke that has been extensively modified. The bike is equipped with Simons forks, Fox air shocks and a host of other modifications most of which were done by White Bros. back in the day. White Bros. did flow work on the head and fit the 34mm Delorto carb as well as a big bore piston (Weisco) taking the motor to 265cc. A performance cam was fitted as well by those folks (fat mid-range, not their top RPM cam). Its was fit with a super trap exhaust at that time as well that I believe was sourced thru Powroll. Buchanan’s Frame and Wheel laced a wider USA Sun rim to the rear Hub and Sidewinder provided the custom rear sprocket. If memory serves me the clutch was upgraded as well. I am the original owner of this bike and purchased a 250 Husqvarna while the 4 stroke project was on-going, the result of which was the KLX was used only sparingly after completion. Its never been raced, only trail ridden a few times. This is not a bike needed anything rebuilt except probably the rear shocks. The shocks may only require recharging. It starts willingly and runs strong. Sprockets, chain and tires are near new.A couple very minor problems...needs a new kill swith. Also, this fip up choke lever on the cab is a bit tight to reach. A cable operated remote choke lever would be nice. Delorto make a very nice kit to do this. Also, these bikes have a lighting coil so light can be added. I have the manual for the bike, shocks and forks. Asking $2100. e-mail for more photos or questions. thanks....

Nah, not my style. It’s all complete.

I only buy bikes that arrive in boxes, it all stems back to my childhood when my first bike arrived in boxes and I first had to learn how to put it together before I could learn how to ride it.

Got a KLX in transit anyway, and I believe it has air shock and air forks, it also has an air tank, air barrel and an air head (airhead, got to be a joke in there somewhere)
