I was looking through my photos from last years Connondale meet and came across this one.
It was for sale amongst a bunch of other bits and pieces.
The sign cracked me up - did it belong to anyone here?

I believe that's the guy from up B'berg way..his name eludes me for the moment but he had a stack of stuff on offer at reasonable prices, if you look close you can see an RM125N/T barrel in the pile along with an early B model RM muffler that came home to live here and I think Brent even scored a pair of TM125 sidecovers from memory. He had a photo album with him with many different bikes he'd owned over the years. Interesting bloke, I have his number somewhere if you interested in the PW50 Wombat  :D

Classic update!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi everyone

What an event this is going to be, with over 120 pre nominated riders and a further 60 who will enter on the day bringing with them well over 300 classic bikes to Conondale, it will be just awesome. The weather here is brilliant and the long range looks good for being fine right thru till after the classic, it will get cold at night though so come prepared.

i am looking forward to racing this year after having to sit out last year, so watch out for the Worms production bikes, known to hate the colour green. ;D

Cheers Trev

How wet is the track at present. I've got the use of a set of soft terrain Shinko's which are like claws in the mud but don't like hard ground.

Good tyres won't make me any faster but might make me fall off less ;D

Brent,
i love those Shinko front tyres and reckon the S.T. or soft terrain is the pick.
you should have no problems as it'll grip the grass real sweet too!

the guys from Green Park have prepaired the track for a great weekend of racing, it has been wet here but it looks like fine right through till after the event, so it should be dry but not dusty, im sure there will muddy sections through out the track just to make the Kiwis and Victorians feel at home.

funny about the Victorians, they all live here in sunny qld, like for ages, but oh no we cant ride for you blokes, turncoats come to mind, ;D hey Russ and Bill.

Cheers trev

I was up at the track yesterday having a a look around and there was a lot of standing water in areas from the rain we have had but the top was very dry. The forcast this week is for wind which will only dry it out more. I would think under the top layer there is moisture but will need some water put in before riding. Venue looks a treat green as and looks like being a top weekend for all who are riding and turning up ;)

Well its only a couple of sleeps and its all on at Conondale. Weather is looking good. To all those that will be taking part in the two day event I wish you all well. Ride hard, but at the same token, take care out on the track.

Keep Smiling  :)

I'm picking up 10 head of sheep tomorrow for the "State of Oranges" can't wait for this years Classic
The track is going to be like a golf course after the rain and sunshine the past couple of weeks, the 'Boys' are marking the track tomorrow. Early predictions are 150-180 entries expected and approx 250+ bikes
See you all there!!

Bill.
