Some bits look a little rough.  ???
Those mud reflectors on the front guard can go for a bomb.

If I wanted that, I'd throw in an offer of $1500 and in today's market you'd likely get it. Keep $300 odd aside for some nos side covers when they come up. Once you've got the aide covers on I'd doubt you'd be able to throw one the same together yourself for under 2k. But that's up to the individual  ;)

The 80J had a bit of a legendary status when I was a young pup. The stories of how fast they were seemed unbelievable. Were they that fast back in the day?? ???

My first bike was the smooooth! YZ80J, it was a great bike. Then a K, the K was a peaky engine compared to the J! Yes back in the day it was a big thing when Yamaha went to the water-cooled engine & red safety seat. Everyone just had to have one!  8)
