XS 650 close ratio transmission.

Here's one of those things you never see. Genuine OW-72 parts are holy grail amongst Yamaha XS twin racers.
                                                

Yamaha XS650-750 OW-72 Webster Trans - I have a genuine Webster close ratio XS650 transmission complete that I got from Shell Racing  some years back. Was going to use in my vintage road racer, but found the long low gear not suitable for high gearing RR set up. These transmissions were used in the OW-72 Yamaha motors for Dirt Track back when Roberts was riding these bikes with the special engines. I acquired most of Shell’s  OW-72 engine items , and have no use for this item. Like new condition. Contact me for additional info.

No Walter, I don't really need it. The genuine OW works parts are pretty rare, Edgar Phipps here in Sydney has an OW72-Shell motor in his Shell framed TT bike, it probably has this same trans. Cheap.

I lost many of my photos when Village Photos went tits up Graeme so I suspect every shot I've had of the bike is lost. The bike is an ex Shell Thuet- Shell OW72 TT bike ridden by Eddie Lawson. It's a neat piece of kit but you'd have to do a big sell for Ed to bring it out of the shed. We'll work on him.

A quick google images search brings up both of the Eddie Lawson 11R Yamaha XS bikes,
One in Shell graphics the other in the non factory Bumble Bee yellow with a Champion tank.
If Edgar just displays the bike it will help inspire others

It's pretty much like this bar Eds has a front brake and TT pegs. #21 is Eddie Lawsons own Shell mile bike.
