Good on ya Jarrod, I had a 30 ear layoff before finding VMX, never had so much fun!!
This s the place to find all the tips and hard to find parts for your restoration. What is your project bike? Where do you live?

I am in Sydney, VMX magazine has a lot to answer for! I have just finished a CR500 1984 and now have a basket case 79 Elsinore CR250 underway... The plan is to join Heaven VMX this year and see if I can still twist a throttle with any sort of confidence....

Don't discount Dirttrack Jarrod, track at Penrith and a bit easier on the body?

Could be an option too Steve. At the moment I am just excited sitting here staring at the toys in the shed!

Drop the Heaven Club a message at [email protected] and we will get all the info out to you pronto. First event is a Practice / Ride / Vinduro weekend in early March. The Bulahdelah track will let that CR500 stretch it's legs as you can ride the 3Km version of the MX track.

Welcome back to the fold JP84, Nepean is the go for me,

I dropped out in about '72 from s/circuit and scrambles and got back into it about '92.

Thought about motocross but wisely decided to go back to dirt track only.
My body can't quite keep up with my enthusiasm but I have fun at Nepean!

cheers pancho.
dont follow me i'm probably off line!

I checked out Nepean on YouTube last night. Looks like a lot of fun too. When is the first club day out there? is there anything special to do to set up the bikes other than a different rear tire?

Probably gearing and suspension set up but you won't know which way to go on either until you've ridden the place a few times. It's a difficult place to achieve optimum gearing with it's long straight and tight S section but you can usually get a good compromise set up with a bit of trial and error. It's all down to how fussy you are.

I am assuming they race moderns out there too... Is there a class that I could slot a 2005 YZ250 into? I managed to pick one up cheap before I got the vintage bug and bought the two CRs to restore...

Ok, so I have joined both Heaven VMX and Penrith MCCoy. I worked out the calendar and between both clubs I'll be very busy this year. I think the missus will have a fit  when she sees the calendar...
