Thanks. I like it.

Yes little old England.

I don't know what make the fork guards are. They came on a used bike I bought. I remember
them from 20 odd years ago when lots of people had them. I think they are a Euro make like
MRobert or something. They dont have any name or numbers on.

and reputedly one of the best RM125's ever to be built  ;) when you look at the factory bikes of the era they are not so far removed, a sign things were getting very serious in '81. Ironically I read the Australasian Dirt Bike '81 RM125 Vs '81 YZ125 shootout only last night. The RM they said wasn't head or shoulders above the YZ but just seems to do everything that little tiny bit better. The Z models are my favs but the X's are so close I'll include them as well. Nice bike RMJJ  ;D

Yeah the X Z and D never won anything outright apart from the floater rear end.
The just had a better all round package than the others.
The Z was good but I allways liked the X best.
Here's a Z for you Doc that I restored earlier this year.

The x is argubaly the best 125 motocross bike of all time-yes I have a bias, I own one.
Its definitely the pick of the bunch in my book against the Z or D (I used to own a D and it was a slug compared to the 'punchier' X).
RMJJ love those bikes mate.
Hopefully you can get downunder one day for a race in the land of great tracks and scared sheep (NZ).

mmm, X, Z or D I'd have any. My only problem is during this transition period the bikes got too tall for me to ride comfortably as I'm quite vertically challenged and not a lot over 100lbs :( never mind it's only a minor detail..I eventually found a Z that was just my size!  ;D it's taken 3 years on and off to get to this stage but there is little left to do now. Since this pic it has a nice gold alloy rear sprocket and chain and nos front guard fitted (thanks Jimson!) the maiden voyage is penciled in for later this year ;)

even the RM80Z's were cool though this ones got D model forks and triples,  D model gold wheels and the '83 rear suspension, just to be a little different  8)

Is it my imagination or does RMJJ's bike have super long rear mudguards?
I think that adds to the 'worksy' look.
I'd seriously consider one of these 125 RM's - but would it haul my 100kg frame (plus gear)?

Crikey Wombat 100KG you say. That's nearly as much as Suzuki 43.  ;D
It'll haul you no problem.

The mudguard and all the plastics by the way are bog standard so it must be your eyes.

Other side.

How do you put a picture on within the text without doing it as an attachment ?

RMJJ, you have to have the picture hosted online either in an online album or with flickr.com or someone like that. Once hosted you get the URL of the actual picture by opening it, right clicking on the actual pic, click properties then copy and paste the address shown into space between the tabs in the forum posting.

eg. [ img] actual online photo address or URL goes here [ /img]
