just some notes on DT/RT and DT2MX ,RT2MX
« on: November 11, 2012, 08:08:41 pm »
I only just found out that even though the cases are the same casts the top left engine mount is aprox 6mm in closer to the centre on the 2mx than the standard DT / RT . When I took the motor out of the DT2MX I noticed the top eng mount was worn on the cases left side , bugger another thing wrong with it I thought . On checking a RT2MX motor that I got from JC ( thanks mate forgot to say it got here ) found it to had a wear on the same top left mount . Next I tried to put a empty set of cases into the frame for Yamaico . no go to wide . angle grinder 6mm off presto it fits , ps the cases where already stuffed . you learn something new every day . That's weird Ian, I had a DT2MX bottom end in my DT1 from Hell and there was no difference in the rear mounts. I also have an RT2MX engine in my Hindall that's made for a DT1 and again, it slotted right in with no discrepancies in the rear mount. I'll check out my DT2MX and RT2MX engines against my DT1 and RT1 engines tomorrow.......weird.

Mark the 2MX 's will fit into RT/DT frames but not the other way . both my 2MX's have the exact same machining on the top left side of the top mount . stranger and stranger ,

Checked my RT2MX cases and they have been notched also.  The frame mount on the RT2MX is thicker than the one on my RT-1 frame.
