Yamaha? Front Wheel
« on: November 02, 2012, 02:54:22 pm »
I'm after a front wheel with a hub like in these photos.

I'm not sure what it is, but reckon it might be early Yamaha DT?
This wheel is 18" and has a steel rim.
I want 21" and alloy so maybe a later DT might be what I'm after.   ???
It's got a 12mm axle.
Sorry to make it hard for you, folks.

If you have anything that fits the bill and is in very good condition, let me know your price and how you want to be paid.
Thanks in advance.

inside the drum should be some ID numbers, that will let you know one way or the other.

Crap. That explains the rim size.  :-\

Here's the deal. This is the wheel that was in the front of my Ossa.
I can't get the real thing at a decent price, so I'm looking for one like that but in alloy and 21 inch.
Thanks for your help mate.

Don't want the mudcatcher rim.
Mines a later model with 'normal' looking rims.

Yep, AT1, CT1, twinshock DT125, and a few ag bikes (with various rim sizes).

You want a TY175, YZ125A, YZ100 or IT125 wheel - same 248-prefix hub, but 21" alloy rim. YZ brake plate is magnesium and has no speedo drive.
MX175 will probably work too, but has a mud-catcher rim and might be the slightly larger twinshock DT175 hub.

I don't have one, sorry.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

Are easy enough to source from ebay.

For what its worth, they're a good little brake, much stronger than you'd expect. I didn't believe how good they are until I tried one and now one is laced up to go on my forthcoming pre 65 Metisse Maico....(yes they are legal for pre 65).
'68 Yamaha DT1 enduro, '69 Yamaha 'DT1 from Hell' '69 DT1'Dunger from Hell, '69 Cheney Yamaha 360, 70 Maico 350 (2 off), '68 Hindall Ducati 250, Hindall RT2MX, Hindall YZ250a , Cycle Factory RT2MX flat tracker, Yamaha 1T250J, Maico 250 trials, '71, Boyd and Stellings TM400, Shell OW72,750 Yamaha

How ya going vandy? Haven't talked to you for ages.  :)
I'm actually after a complete wheel. I could lace up another rim to that hub, but I'm too lazy and don't want it to look too new. It'll be out of place with the rest of the bike.  :D
Thanks for the offer though mate.
