Aussies invade NZ
« on: April 14, 2008, 11:49:02 pm »
Hi to all,

Haven't been on here for a while but have just got back from NZ and have a few people to thank.

First to Steve Sweeney who arranged the trip over and then some.
To all the great Kiwis I met but especially Lloyd McKensie, Bill "TM Bill" and the new 125 champ Don "DJ Racing".
I was just blown aways by these guys and their mates. Their genorosity, the fact they accepted a couple of Aussie mongrels as one of there own (Well, almost) and they couldn't have been any more helpfull. They let us race in their event, lent me a bike and invited us to their end of season presentation. All bar one didn't even care when I hung sh*t on their beer. (It wasn't that bad actually but I wasn't telling them that!) To all you guys, thank you so much, I haven't laughed and enjoyed myself so much in ages.

As for the event, all I can say is BRILLIANT!!!!!!!! Even though I didn't do so well I still had a ball. It was so laid back, at least for most. None of the crap we go through here. You guys exemplify "Same old bikes, same old dirt, same old fun" What a shame it is only going to get worse for us. Thanks to DJ for the lend of his YZ125E.

A few of the lads are coming over for CD5 but unfortunately I wont be able to make it but I would have loved to catch up with them again. I hope they come again some time and I can repay their hospitality.

Thanks to all you blokes and your partners. You made the trip exceptional.

Neale

Thank the lord for full strength beer and anti-inflamatories.
Thank the Lord for Melbourne Bitter, anti-inflamatory drugs & an understanding wife.

CJ or Siege is one of the nicest blokes in the US scene and KK was working on getting him and Mike McCook, another cool Yank over here for CD5 but McCook is working in China and can't get the time away. He was going to finance CJs trip so that unfortunately didn't eventuate. Sieges t shirts and Hammer and Tongs website and McCooks site are the coolest on the planet. Aussie legend PJ Read writes for McCook exclusively.http://www.wischt.com/siegeshirts.htm    http://www.mccookracing.com/
They both should be here for CD6.

I'm also glad you had a good time in UnZud Vipe. All of the Kiwi VMX folks I've met over the years have been great company. We'll have a few domiciled in the Kevlar Kompound at CD5.

Viper666 glad to hear you had a good time, my hang over is just starting to subside. Sorry I didnt get to prep the YZ125E up a bit better for ya. And in that second race of yours, you were leading the pre81-125 class so if you call that "not doing so well" I'm taking up drinking VB  ;D.
I hope Steve enjoyed his time here too and maybe the next time you guys come over we can show you a damp, green rolling paddock to race on  ;).

As TM Bill and myself have stated before, any 'True Blue's' want to come over and race we are more than willing to help as much as we can, even if ya dont like our beer.  ;D  ;D
If at first you dont succeed, give up and drink beer

Well played Neale, even if you are a Bombers supporter, you exemplify all the great things about Australia:racing hard and getting the most pissed after the race ;D
I look forward to seeing you and Steve over here again next season.

Hey Craigie Boy, did he get pissed enough to claim he could jump a 50foot table top on a 50? Sounds like a good weekend lads.

Magoose you legend.I must say that your Mexican brother made you look like a teetotaller.
Evil Knievel has nothing on the living legend NP.
You must get over here for a race mate.I am sure we can rustle up a postie bike for you (Honda) ;)
Have a blast at CD5 unfortunately (or fortunately for you) I am unable to attend, but I am sending my better looking brother in my place.

Now come on boys. I never over endulged. At best, I was slightly socially excited. My wife made me promise to be on my best behavior.
Didn't I succeed?????????????????????
Anyway, I have nothing on you Kiwi blokes, especially anyone who "Drank from the victors cup." (Go DJ)
That concoction bordered on paint stripper mixed with lighter fluid.
"A fine wine that really opens up the the sleuzes at both ends." (Appologies to Monty Python)
Again, I cant thank you guys enough and all I can hope is to retun the favour one day.
How good would it be if we could set up a "VMX Oceania?" Problem would be getting bikes to and fro.
The way to go would be to line up a heap of loaners. I digress.
I had to go to work today and that was a "Back to reality" moment but my mind wandered back to the one of the best times I have ever had and would just have a silly grin that only I knew why.

Hope to do it again one day

I'm not fat, just sort for my weight.

PS Thanks for the shirts TM Bill & DJ Racing, they went "Staight to the pool room"

Or at least they will when I build it.
