500cr carb bits
« on: October 08, 2012, 01:18:50 am »
G'day all, I have a 1984 Husky 500cr  and I am looking for bits for that monster Mikuni carb (44mm?)
Specifically I am looking for  bowl gaskets to stop the thing leaking like a sieve.
Fired her up today for the first time this year. Arm stretching fun!

If its an 83 or 84 model then it originally would have had a 40mm carb. The 44 was only used on the 1982.5 model 500 CR. The 44 made the bike an animal so they went to the 40 in 83 which is much easier to manage. In 85 they dropped to a 38 for the 500AE to make it easier to start and run at lower revs ranges for enduro work. Interestingly in 84 the 250 CR LC went to a 38 flat slide but the WR air cooled retained the round slide so Husky were certainly playing around with their carbs.
