Must be very stiff, 28mm OD over 500mm in lenght and would be great if you can take them to the Nats this weekend.

Probably doesn't help much but MikesXS in the states sells all sorts of stuff. great web site good delivery. He has performance progressive wind springs that would probably fit your needs, and not silly expensive either.
