1992 KTM500mx Pipe
« on: May 24, 2012, 04:17:03 pm »
Does anyone know if any companys do a Pipe/Silencer for a 92 KTM500? I can get a new genuine one for $600 Euro plus postage.
I had a Slecton Pipe (SPES) on my 1989 KTM 350 but they aren't around anymore.
Spent hours looking on the net and my eyes are cooked and sick of the mrs whinge about surfing the net. Any help please

Geoff will make anything from scratch providing he can have the bike for jigging and fitting, in my experience this can cost anywhere between 500-800 bucks (dont qoute that! :-\) for a full system, but keep in mind you are getting a custom made performance pipe and not just a stock replacement. Either way at 600 euro you've got pretty much a grand to play with  on this side of the equator!! And you'll feel all warm n fuzzy coz you've kept your  hard earned $$$'s in our economy as well!!  ;) ;D

Duane, i was talking to the parts guys at Boltons in Kyneton and mentioned about your expansion chamber, the part number still comes up on the system as a valid number, $340 rrp, nil stock in Oz, back order from Austria about 6 weeks. May be worth checking out.

Thanks for that. I spoke to Boltons this morning and they told me to give KTM a try and Jaydee Wreckers as well. I also found out that DynoPort in the US do a full system as well. So i have a few options now. Thanks
