Well, I bought a Just bikes mag to find the resleeve guy - Resleev-a-carb 03 397945612 mmmm $290 to resleeve a Type 54 Bing 40mm carb. postage to and from melbourn to Brissy maybe $30 so i end up with a resleeved $320 carb.mmmm that brand new Mikuni is sounding better all the time.  A brand new Bing from Bing international is about $450 US which is $560 plus shipping so thats out as well. mmmm again that brand new Mik is looking better..or maybe evilbay or the wreckers... or someone who has a friggin Bing that wants to sell it???? anyone???

Well it came down to 38mm against 40mm. Just couldn't get a 40mm Mikuni and the 38 I had just wouldn't bore out any further...... :-X

The 38mm 54 should be able to be bored to 40mm. I imagine any decent engineering shop should be able to do it. I'd be checking that it's not badly worn first. :P
