Ossa Explorer

I have a mate with what he thinks is an Explorer-actaully 1 and 3/4s of them. They look to me like a trail bike rather than an enduro, would that be a fair assumption. It looks alot like a TS250 or DT250, more so than a PE or IT if you get my drift. Any ideas??

The Ossa Explorer was pretty much a trials bike with a bigger seat and tank.

Am now the 'proud' ? owner of 1 complete 250 Explorer and another box of bits including frame, rr wheel, forks & shocks (Beta?) and an engine in bits. Does this make me a Trials rider ??
The only real question I have is "where does the sidecar bolt on??"
Seriously, where do I start finding stuff for one of these Ossa thingies???
I seem to recall an article about Ossas from some-one on the Gold Coast---any ideas??

OSSA world, www.ossaworld.com is where I have got some of the stuff for my OSSA and Ebay. Prices seem pretty good for Euoropean bike and they are easy to deal with. Good luck with it.

BJ rides a SDR enduro model EML,i ride a ossa bitza ,your frame with longer SDR s/arm with super pioneer b/end with phantom top end,for VMX/dirt track,not too many problems with them,engines pretty strong,front ends excellent,betors the byword for forks bitd,just ride it &  have fun mate,trials should be ok,it's basically a bully alpina type bike,bit of 'soft" enduro & trials/trailbike all in one?,

Betors might be the by-word for forks but these are like match sticks

As Mick said I have a 74 SDR (enduro). I have used it in a few vinduros. I drag it out of the shed put some fresh fuel in it, it starts 1st or 2nd kick ride it for 4 or 5 hours take it home wash it and put it back in the shed till the next vinduro. A flat tyre is the only thing that's gone wrong, looking at the tyre I think it was fitted in 1975. Now that I have my Montesa going I think it's time to give it some love and get her up to speed and looking good. It's suspension is shot, brakes are hopless but it's reliable as an axe and just keeps going.
Yeah I am a fan of the OSSA but then again any thing with two wheels and a two stroke motor has my interest.

The bike boneyard in Montana wrecks a few Ossa's occasionally, managed to get a clutch pushrod from him.  Just can't remember where I put it though.
