Metal reed petals?

On my 84 Honda CR500 i have discovered it has metal reed petals. Is this standard and are they any good or should i just get some boyesen one's? They still appear to seat quite well .

they are the stock standard Honda reed petals, i recommend you replace them if they are original from 1984 as they could break making a mess of your engine.
i run boysen reeds which are easily available via ebay or bike shops
