Melton 89 YZ250
« on: April 14, 2012, 08:28:05 am »
When I was yonger my brother in law bought a YZ250 89 in malboro colour scheme,I loved this bike and allways remember it.He stripped the paint and rode it for some time. One day he was doing some mainteinence and I clearly remember on the inside of one of the casings had Peter Melton inscribed. He told me the other day he still knows where the bike is and I asked him to chase it up to see if it may be for sale.It had a tecnocell seat cover and a full arrow exhuast. The bottom end power of this bike was like nothing Ive seen ever since. So my question is would this be correct, did Melton ride a YZ250 in 89?Im hoping to get this bike back either way.

Hes trying to get hold of the bloke who bought it off him around 8 years ago.Hopefully its not too flogged.I found a pic of meltons 89 YZ and it had red anodised forks but this one definetly doesnt.Maybe it was just his practice bike.

James,
I'd say the one you saw in the photo was a '90 model, they had red anodised forks and a few other differences from the '89 model
