a mate just bought a "brand new"  :o one from the local Honda guys down at slacks creek in Brisbane!
he paid a motza for it ($400~ish) but reckons it wasn't that hard a part to get.
i thought all the N.O.S. ones were long gone

Just checked Bolton motorcycles in Kyneton via their website, part number still comes up as available, $252.00 Not a bad price i reckon....

'91 is the last model that will fit, '92 went to a different powervalve mechanism. The '90/91 model has a different part number I think, because they where alloy and not mag, so corrosion isn't much of an issue, and for that reason they are still avaliable nos.
If it's the one ebay it's a '87 not '88, different again.
