Slakewell, the 55kmh lap speed , by an experienced rider, has been in the MNSW MX track construction rules for about 15 years that I know of, my club built 3 tracks in that time, one permanent and 2 temporary.

This is what happens when people claim speed is unsafe. It's hard to make people understand that just speed alone dosent cause accidents.
When we have Guberments that bombard us with speed kills night and day sadly people start to believe.

55km/h maximum average. That's bloody fast for an MX track, especially an old bike.

Its an old rule that's basically impossible to enforce.
Non event.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

And we wonder why we get Tracks that Mini bikes don't use top gear.

we all know the tracks in the late 80s started to turn into outdoor supercross tracks. yes they are crap. thats why vmx is the best. the flowing vmx tracks are one reason why young uns are getting into it. our local mx track has 19 jumps and you only get to 4 th gear. boring.

It's an average isn't it? you don't need too many tight corners to bring the average down even if you've got a couple of fast straights

The MA rules (the ones we use) say 55km/h average for a lap and a maximum speed of 100km/h.

Both speeds are for an A grade rider
The older I get, the faster I was
