1975 TL250

I have just picked up a 1975 Honda TL250 to add to my ever expanding collection of Post Classic trials iron, which now totals 9 bikes.  It's a bit rough but very original. I have wanted one of these for many years and when Mark (MR Motorcycles) told me this one was for sale I didn't even haggle over the price.





The plan is to get it sorted over the next month or so and ride a few trials here in SA this season. On the way home with it yestyerday, I stopped off at Walter's (YSS) and he sorted out a new set of shocks for me, and I will be sending the fork tubes off for re-chroming tomorrow. I already have a brand new set of Michelin tyres and a pair of my favorite bend Renthal bars sitting in the shed that I was going to use on my Montesa 247, but the Monty has now moved back a few places in the que.

Even though the current (original) mudguards aren't perfect (quite faded and oxidised) I don't want to ride with them and want to keep then for when I do a full resto on it. So, does anyone out there know where I can get some replica mudguards for this model?

can't answer your question about mudguards but I had one of these for a while which I inherited from my dad.  Had an aboslute ball - the places I went with it.  The clearance might not have been as good as the TY's but balance was great - once I had it on the back wheel it could stay there all day!

Reliability trials? I wouldn't fancy sitting on that seat for too many hours!

Definetly no going to try and do any Reliability Trials on it. A combination of a worn out body and deteriating eye sight have conviced me to cut back on the RT, although I still want to ride the River Murray 6hr on my 390 Auto Husky this year.

So I will be going to go back to my roots this year and get back into Observed Trials (I am too old and set in my ways to call it Moto Trials) and will attempt to do all the rounds of the TROY series along with the Peter Sparks and Deiner/Holmes Trophy if the daughter will get on the sidecar with me again this year.

Go to SHEDWORKS.net in the UK, he is now making plastic repo guards for TL125/250, I have one of his rear guards mounted on my TL125K1, they are vacum formed and come in a shiney meltalic silver colour,  you have to drill the mount holes, they are perfect for a ride bike, I have to buy a front guard now as he was still waiting for them to be made at the time I brought the rear guard, he also has side panels for the TL250, look up products page 2 on his website, the guards cost 45 GBP each + postage, I to have to restore a set of OEM guards that I have
