Finally after 18 months of resto chasing bits and pieces throughout Australia and Worldwide plus Ebay I have finished this TY175JC that now is registered
When I first bought it it looked like this. I had been after a registerable TY175JC and this came along.
A real shitty blue coloured JC with a pod filter and a front trailbike guard modified as a rear guard. Came with this very aftermarket noisy muffler which I think Nathan inherited when he bought a TY175 from my brother.
I lost the photos of the build as it went along when my computer crashed
So the work done was high tensile allen bolts for the majority of the bike, A new set of Betor rear shocks, new Sammy Miller seat, new rear TY light with flap for number plate, new cables, DT blinkers, TY250? speedo mounted higher with a DT 175 longer speedo cable, an original battery box, muffler, chainguard and airbox plus new chain sprockets, tyres, mirrors and handgrips. I couldn't get an original rear JC guard so I found a broken rear TY175JC guard at a swap meet, cut the back half off and put the front end of a front trailbike guard on and the toolbag covers the join between the guards. The tank is off another one of my TY's till I get the old one resprayed.
The engine is still good with slight piston slap and so far it has a top speed of 70 kmls with the gearing as is.
It is a great little toy to ride around on
