I dont know the history of the bike stu , it is the RM 400 that Brad lackey rode on his recent visits here.
I traded a couple of other RMs for it with a mate in Auckland  :)
At a push i can get 10 bikes on the slide deck  ;D

Is that the famous "poohskin hunter" 'That Guy' in the gateway TMB? I can see why you would need his services. The two 'brothers' scrub up top notch for a day out Bill.

I love the old metal tank RMs; they fill me with a sense of nostalgia.
That was the era I discovered dirt bikes and the RMs were the weapon of choice for Peter Boyle at Tivoli and Roger D in the magazines!
I had the glossy brochures for the 125/250/370 for years and I can't imagine why I ever threw them out - along with a huge factory poster of Gaston Rahier (and his Heckel boots).

Thanks for posting Bill, have you raced it?
"Whadaya mean it's too loud?! It's a f*ckin' race bike!! That pipe makes it go louder - and look faster!!"

DJ yes that was That Guy in the drive he caught me taking pics of the girl  :-[ obviously he rubbished the operation and called me a " Gay Suzuki riding Homo " produced too cans of diet coke and took my Mudbug round the block at full noise to piss off the Neighbours  ;D

Thanks Wombat :) I to really like the early RMs they capture a time when life was simpler and racers were racers  8)

I haven't raced this one but i have raced my A model witch was very original and now lives at a mates place hence the 400 aquisition  :)

We dont run a pre 78 class in NZ and i find the 400 way more competitive in pre 81 ( just the rider lets it down :-[)
Im building up a 250 B that will hopefully look like the 370 .

The Legendary Sam finishing off the last wayward individual that swam the croc infested moat , scaled the 30' electric fence , tiptoed through the mine field , and past the last poohskin trap " a Family pack of KFC and a dozen DB to breach the perimeter  ;D at least he died with indigestion.
