1977 Fork Oil specs ?
« on: December 17, 2011, 02:05:05 pm »
Gents,  what is your recommendation for capacity and grades for the forks on a 1977 AW 250 - will be raced at Heaven - understand there will be variables but a good starting point would be very much appreciated.

Will check manual later but usually good starting point 140mm from top of tube with fork full compressed, no spring

Rosco,

Thanks for that. Just put them together with Castrol 15 weigh fork oil and 148mm from the top - full compressed -spring out - around 400cc of oil. Will get deano to check what he thinks. Feel good at this start point.

BIG improvement !!!!!!!   pulled the top caps apart - grub screw into a  light spring into a 6mm ball bearing. Cleaned oiled and now working well. ta pete
