Thanks Tim, that was a beautiful piece, many will write about Marco Simoncelli the racer but Shwantzy's shown Marco the bloke as only a friend can do. Good stuff.

Yeah I enjoyed it because it described Marco as a character. Full of life. MotoGP will be a sterile place when Rossi (who's very detuned these day) leaves. Marko was that hope that we could have somebody at the post race conference wearing silly hats and not saying that he'd like to thank his sponsors, his pit crew etc  :P

Wayne Gardner also wrote in his weekly column how he and his kids met Marco for the first time at PI, the kids were over the moon at meeting their idol , Gardner said he was a bit taken aback when Marco whipped out his phone to get a photo with him.

I read Waynes column. I was curious about his reaction considering he centre punched Franco Uncinis head in similar fashion. He must have felt ill when he saw the accident.
