I'm assuming this has been done many times before, what works best? Alloy sheet?
I'm thinking in terms of stapling the seat cover on as well as ease of fabrication

I have been contemplating fibreglass - building up layers over an old (shite) seat base with a thin sheet of plastic between the old and the new so it comes away.
