Nice Kawasaki Flat Tracker.
« on: September 10, 2011, 04:33:30 pm »
I saw this Kawasaki Bighorn flat tracker on Marks Swapmeet this morning and fell in love with it. There's no info about the bike as it's being used to model the bike stands the bloke sells but whatever specs it has, it's one very cool looking bike.

I think it's a Bighorn 350. I doubt you'd get it into pre '70 Steve....pre '75 for sure.

The reason I asked is because I'm building up a T20 Suzuki Tracker and still haven't decided on which seat & rear guard to use, I like the look of that.

Doc, we did get the Greenstreak Juniour. I remember them being raced at my local track in 70/71 & they did very well, even tho only 100cc against the 125s.  Tom Gibson & Ian Hore were 2 riders I remember.

There was also one on the show-room floor at my local Kaw dealer when I was in early highschool, & my bro  raced one in juniors a couple of years later. I also found a near mint condition one about 10yrs ago & on-sold it to a kaw collector at Nerang

There was also a few 238 Greenstreaks too. Stan Veenstra rode one & Gibson probably did too. Dave Alsop in Vic also raced one. I think it was just that Kawasaki were only just starting to get established in Oz at the time that there weren't many around.

Well there ya go John, learn something new all the time ;) I thought the G21-M Greenstreak was a US only model and the first production MX bike from Kawasaki. I thought Dave Alsop used to own a 238 (red from memory) but figured it must have been a later import. I can honestly say up until recent times I'd never seen any in Oz.

Yeah, the little Greenstreak must have had some sort of limited release as an old mate has had one laying dormant under his house for about 30 years. Of course, he won't sell it. >:(   I recall seeing a Greenstreak at Nepean dirt track back in the day....possibly the Tom Gibson bike JC mentioned. Mick Taylor from Condo's had one from new.

Doc, you maybe right - Dave Alsop's & Stan Veenstra's 238s may have been the red model. I can't remember exactly now.

Steve, I get mine on USA eBay or from Jim Eade Motorcycles here in Sydney. They sell both decent quality Indian made and some genuine Brit made alloy 'guards.

Jim Eade Motorcycles 536 Parramatta Rd, Ashfield, NSW 2131. p: (02) 97987822. Website - none ...

The alloy guard look is what I'm thinking of on my build.
The guy who own's Jim Eade now can be prickly, doesn't like small talk, show him your money and it's a different story.
He's a pretty straight shooter though.
