RM250X rebuild or sell

decisions, decisions, already have a rickman zundapp to do.  Is the X worth the effort or should i sell on

does have fromt forks, and wheels  as well, in good nick, motor turns over. 

Need:
Engine mounts and bolts
exhaust
carby and rubbers
brake backing plates front and rear and axles, spacers

believe the rest to be just refurbish etc

Toosa, You have the last model produced in the air cooled 250, The cylinder was unique and to that year only. If you have all the parts, I would be more inclined to hold on it and make it one those  a fill in jobs. If you don't have the room or the time ...... pass it on.

my problem is once i get something I like to get stuck in to it.  Hate to see it sitting around.  But with two new bikes coming in to replace what i have sold and a beautiful remnant of a Rckman zundapp, given to me by a family friend, so much to do before next season.  Just have to find something to keep the wife"s nose out of the new shed, or she'll want another camera!!!!

Wow.. Barry there is a lot of work in bringing that back to life again and they really aren't that sought after for a pre '85 bike. They were a good bike though, i had a brand new one and loved the Full Floater rear end

yeah John I know they were almost called a fill in motor while they sorted out water cooled stuff.  Great suspension I know as i had a D up until a couple of months ago, sold that because I wanted air cooled big bore, twin shock.  This one fell in to my lap.  The problem with these things is you just got to do something with it otherwise you feel like you let the movement down.  I'm in the process of trying to line up a Husky CR390, so at a crossroad as to what to do with it.  Suprisingly she who will be obeyed says build it.  Will be a back burner one me thinks.  Hows my bike coming John!!lol

RM 250-X is in my oponion one of the ballsiest models Suzuku ever did  - if some one picks this up. please bring it up to former glory!

I have always liked this model. Collected a fair bit of aftermarket trick stuff for one day if i find one. If you got the space and dont need the money from selling it i would say keep it for sure.

Well rang the old man this morning being father's day, he wants to build it so looks like the family have decided, so any of the parts mentioned above, if you got 'em I need 'em!!!lol

Looove the 250X, i have one which was a one owner, and is still a competitive pre85 mount, dont have any problems keeping up with later stuff, only problem is parts availability for SOME engine parts. Light, revvy and great suspension makes for a great day out-much rather ride it than my Evo bike.

Years ago a mate had an RM250X in registered enduro trim using PE Suzuki bibs and bobs and while he was recovering from an injury I rode it in a couple of enduros....and promptly fell in love with it . The full floater rear suspension was a revelation compared to my twin shock Maico and the motor handled the gnarly stuff beautifully. I always thought that bike with the PE400 engine would have been a serious enduro weapon.

I would have been keen on your bike Tossa BUT i prefered that you kept it and rebuild it since you still have the engine...so i didnt say anything.
If it was engineless then thats another story

This was an earlier post i did....
Anyways.....spotted this at HBBB and thought this was VERY NICE.
PE250 engined and i reckon it would be a hoot to ride.....Any spare RM250 rollers out there? 
As i went with a loop to clear the angled port on my RM125F,this one had roughly half the down tube knotched to clear the header and was very neat.
