New elCheapo toy for Firko
« on: July 28, 2011, 12:54:57 pm »
I know I've openly stated that I wasn't going to get any more bikes from the USA until my current projects are all up and running but this one was too good to let go. The seller has them up as DT1's but I soon saw that the "ripped seat" bike was actually a DT2MX, one of the hardest Yamaha motocrossers to find. I got it for $250 and even if I parted it out I could make a lazy grand on it. Depending on the condition I may restore it or more likely I'll transfer all of the mechanicals to one of my Hindalls. Too cool. ;D

I didn't buy the other one because it's just a humble old DT2 trailbike. I could get one of them almost anywhere, plus I've already got enough DT1 engines stashed away. Compare the photos of the bike I didn't buy with the one I did and you'll see that they're very different. Thankfully the seller didn't realise the difference.

I hope, in his ignorance, that he ships the correct bike to you…

Cause that would be a really bummer.  ;)

Yeah, I thought of that too Jeff....I've addressed that scenario with him already. 8)
