Husky with Hedlund ? motor
« on: February 17, 2008, 12:27:07 PM »

I pinched this image from the MXTRAX.UK vintage forum site . Does anyone know what it is ? The pommy guys didn't seem to know either , but the best guess seemed to be a Hedlund motor in an '81/2 Husky frame.
Note the right side gearshift & the cable operated rear brake, which must have a pedal on the left.

Wow, that's a rare one. It does indeed appear to be a late model Hedlund engine in a Husky. Nisse Hedlund created the original Husky/Monark/Lito engine that gave Rolf Tibblin a World 500 title for Husky back in the late 50s. The Monark, Husky and Lito are almost identical bikes, an early example of badge engineering. Alan Jones is building a Monark works replica at present and another forum / Klub Kevlar member is in the process of importing a similar Husky to the one below. This late model is the first one I've seen. See below a sixties Hedlund designed Husky and a relatively modern Hedlund V twin. The twin engine appears to have the same head/barrel design as the '81 Husky.
