'79 Magnum 400 eBay potential bargain.

Considering how good the Aussie dollar is against the Greenback at the moment it makes sense to buy from the USA. This totally dismantled '79 400 Magnum may turn out to be a good deal as it can be imported as parts, thereby bypassing the need for an import licence and a pink slip from the seller. You may also save a fair bit of money in shipping fees if everything is packed into two or three boxes, depending on which shipper you use. The Magnum 400/440 is arguably the next most desirable Maico after the '81 490 and '74 400/440 and you know how the prices for them have recently gone ballistic. It won't be long before the Magnum is up there with them. The Magnum also makes a great basis for a "Frankenbike" using 81-84 forks, '81 swingarm and a 490 top end. The Magnum frame is lighter and thought by many to be a much better handling frame than the '81 so "Frankenbikes" (as the Yanks call 'em) are becoming pretty popular in the US. Whatever you do with it, if the price remains under $1000-1100 it'll be a good investment as Maico prices for every model are shooting up at a rate of knots.
