As uber cool and iconic as the full-on Fox bikes were/are, I reckon FMF and DG are better fitting the description as a 'Hop-Up Shop'. FMF and DG seemed to be more about tuning/development and using whatever parts worked rather than pushing a particular product line.
Not to say that they didn't have there own product lines, nor that Fox weren't into the tuning side of things, just that they went about things in different ways given that their heydays were in slightly different eras and things were changing fast back then.
