Soften rubber inlet manifold

I'm sure I read on the forum soaking rubber in some sort of solution to soften it?

spray it several times with armourall over a couple of weeks...

Oldyz right, armourall or similar & put it in a platic bag out in the sun to let it sweat.

not that I know of Hoony. Have friends in the US who actually store rubber parts in bottles of the stuff to keep them soft on the shelf and they swear by it but I've never tried it myself :-\ obviously on an inlet manifold if there is any perishing or cracking then it's best replaced with a new one ;)

Soaking in brake fluid requires about  2 weeks.

Brake fluid is the go, it will remove old paint as well if the rattle can restorer has had a shot at it at some stage.

I would love to know the result as I have a similar issue

I bought a used inlet manifold on US ebay to replace my cracked one and this one whilst not cracked is as hard as

Should I have a crack at the brake fluid?
