5 speeds...not likely unless one of the 6 is stuffed! Since when did 82 models have blue frames? It is in good nick though.

Possibly an 84 E model if its a legit blue frame, tank decal imprint doesnt match an E but it could be a mix and match.

How does the 84 motor compare to earlier PE's - say X & Z motors? More peaky, more bottom end or what? Any noticeable difference? Motor or the pipe making the difference?

I cant remember exactly without going through the bike mag tests but i think engine/pipe/porting wise it stayed the same but gearbox ratios changed on the 83 D model or the 84 E model and the mags said that it mellowed out the power for good or for bad depending on who rode the bike and then i cant remember what year the KDX200 and IT200 came in including the XR200 so unfortunately Suzuki didn't persist going to a 200 as well...would have been nice.
One year they complain its too peaky and not for a beginner and the next its too mellow and that the other years were more fun....go figure??

Lukes skydrive has the bike tests and worth a read if you like PE's
