What’s your views on shades of black for a hub?
What looks ‘right’?
What were most hubs normally?

Viva la difference   8).

Gloss for the 'bling' look; satin OEM or racer  ;).

(But NO black rims under any circumstances ;D)

I've tried all different shades of Black Geoff, it depends what bike it is. The color I like the most is VHT barrel  paint p/n SP-906 satin black. It looks better than gloss and has that "original look" to it. Do the backing plates aswell.

Satin all the way. I've done a few in gloss black - even when the cosmetics are totally non-original, gloss hubs still look odd.

FWIW, the gloss black front hub on my DT1 is frequently mistaken for a Husky hub. I guess that gloss black hubs would be OK on an old Husky.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

Looking through Legendary Motocross Bikes and 7/8 are Satin and I'll go with what D Crocket said "It depends what bike they are on" !!
