My new toy - PE250 1981
« on: February 09, 2008, 12:21:09 pm »
I picked this up today for...well...not much.    ;D
Turns over ok, all pretty orginal...I was wondering why the guards and side covers were white instead of yellow!!!!    ???
Well they are yellow underneath......seems the exterior plastic has faded and sort of oxidised badly. Otherwise hopefully a not too hard resto in progress....
Greg.

Looks all pretty original, Gerpster.  ;D
There seems to be a bit of knowledge out there on these things.
Good luck with it and don't forget to show us again when it's finished.

Thanks for the replies.
Yeh mostly complete and came with it's own spider colony in the airbox!!!!      :o
One big hairy tarantula living under the seat too that made it all the way home until I took the seat off. I think we both scared the crap out of each other!!!     :D

you got the tail light and headlight so thats a plus! its got no side stand has it ;D why is it when ever you buy a PE they are always missing the side stand? i got 3 of them but none came with side stands and one even had the bracket cut off the frame >:(

new headlight shells are very close now, i think some have be produced for a bike show in UK on 16th of february. the guy has finally got funding. so when i hear more i will let you know. you would be up for $128 Us dollars or $145 Australian dollars and that doesnt include the numberplate. im trying to get them made so they are undrilled for the headlight grill or drilled for the 2 types and not one or the other so everyone is catered for.

Noticed this arvo that the magnesium magneto cover is pretty banged up so i will be on the hunt for one of those..i imagine they aint cheap!!!!    :-[
