Steve 234 got that right with Denise Dall. Although I have only known her for about thirty four years she does have a bit of Blue Healer in her when it comes to this sort of caper. She has been a stalwart of the GMCC for as long as I can remember and I reckon there is none better to take up the fight with sort of palarva going on.

And Foss got the other bit right about Caslick and Gardner.

I wasn't kidding when I said before, maybe on another subject, when I said we should get someone like the CSIRO involved.
Surely there is a ballance between using Sump Oil or just plain Water.
If we can get it right, all tracks could use the formula.
Being someone who was heavily involved during most of the " Golden Years ", the thing that bit me on the arse when I renewed my interest just a few years ago was, how much down time there was at a modern Dirt Track meeting.
Noise restrictions will always be a problem, Nepean used to be from Sun up till Sun down and I understand that.
Sooooooooo, it's only logical that we need to reduce the amount of Track Prep required during a meeting.
Steve
I just noticed that Grasy6 from the Griffith Mafioso is watching, what is your secret???

In Vic. we either had dust or the water truck. NOBODY wanted to follow the water truck!!! Trouble was,,, the dust was just as dangerous! Just oil the track and be done with it i say ;D The residue run off from an oiled track would not come anywhere near the rubbish they allow to be pumped into creeks etc. etc.
 POLITICS . Aaargh!!!%%$$##@

Mark, an over oiled track was like bitumen and honestly I couldn't see the difference between riding on the black top.
These days I think its called Super Moto.
You're 100 % right, surely pumping an exhorbitant amount of water on a surface isn't environmentaly sound either.
On a side note, Crumpy senior had to follow the water truck for 3 of his 5 races in a World Final in the late 70's, on a Streety, it crueled his night.

To be honest, it didn't worry me what the surface was like, I just put a tyre on to suit the track , the Dunlop K 70 was a good all-rounder for Nepean, Young, Griffith or Temora or a Barum speedway tyre for deco tracks like  Yass or Bendigo, for the super hard tracks like Wyalong was at times , I ran a Continental road tyre and listened to it howl , loved it !!
