God there are some ugly looking exhaust pipes in that lot....really don't like those down and around and up and around pipes...just don't convey the "era" that we are trying to preserve... and gee what a lot of work to fit a V Force size reed to a 400.....also that same bike looks very up and down in the front end....could be the front guard ..but me thinks has had a steering head tuck...

Absolutely agree Watto. I bought a through the frame pipe and 75 radial head for my Mag, but decided to leave it stock for those very reasons.

Brian,
The #10 bike was has been modified in the steering head, i think John said it was done by Rob North. The reed valve was cast up by some guy overthere and the same guy ported the cylinder with an extra two transfers, John said that PFR pipe was the best one he has used. Most of the 400s had reed valves and 6 speed gear boxes. He rode in the 60+ and was quick  ;)
Funnily enough i have the exact same setup on my 400 ;D ;D

Yep. that is one way to do it... can't see the need to do it on a pre 75 bike..certainly helps on a GP bike...Kirky used to cut the clamps in a line behind the handlebar bolts and in front of the steering stem...that way only one weld.... I have a set at home ..but just poking the forks thru the clamps does the same thing..get forward and it is even better...
