Magoo Fund Raiser
« on: April 26, 2011, 12:17:42 pm »
Ladies and Gents - through the kind generosity of some forum members and the exceptionally kind generosity of Walt Hackensmith, Bob Hannah, Marty Smith and Brad Lackey I have some autographed Walt Hackensmith prints to auction with all proceeds going to the Magoo fund.

There are 3 Walt Hackensmith autographed posters, measuring 430 x 550mm, of Bob Hannah, Brad Lackey and Marty Smith.  Unfortunately due to a small problem we have missed out on Marty's autograph but his poster is still signed by Walt whilst the remaining 2 are signed by both Walt and Bob/Brad.  In addition to this we have from Brad Lackey, from his personal collection, 3 other posters signed as you will see below.

I have set a reserve on each poster - Brad Lackey posters are numbered 1-4 top to bottom - and will let the auction run for a week or until the posters are gone.  I will include postage for all Australian winners and can discuss the costs with overseas winners.

So dig deep everyone - remember all monies go to the Magoo fund - so we can help a good mate and his family.

Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

cheers

Do we just bid here?
If so, I'll start with $250 for the Hannah one.

I'll plonk $150 on the Lackey GP winner one at the bottom, had one as a kid (not signed) and always wished I'd kept it.

Just to keep it rolling, I'll go $50.00 on each of the Hackensmith/Lackey and Lackey CD3 posters as well.

Come on guys - this has been really slow?  What am I doing wrong? Lets throw in a few dollars in memory of Magoo (and there are lots of forum members that remember him still out there).

The reserves are realistic (you will be surprised).  Bob Hannah currently sits at $250, Marty Smith at $150, Brad Lackey GP at $150 and a couple of the other Brad lackeys at $50 each (in fact I will make the Hackensmith Brad Lackey one $100 now).

I only have a couple of days left to run - would like to finish Monday before I go o'seas again - so have a dabble - some of them may go for a lot less than you could imagine because somebody else hasn't bid.

IN MEMORY OF OUR MATE MAGOO

cheers

OK one and all - have to call this quits now due to heading off.  Thanks to all those that bid and helped raise some dollars for Mrs Magoo.  I shall drop you a PM and let you know where to send the dollars and get some addresses so I can send the posters off.

Every dollar helps so again - thanks so much.

It's very disappointing to see that this effort to help out Magoo's family has been largely ignored.

From what I've read previously about how Magoo was regarded within the VMX community, I thought there would be more people willing to help out.

Maybe next time, eh?  ;)

Congrats Rossco, it was a good effort.

I agree Geoff - was worried with HBBB and Easter etc but then I only had a small window of opportunity.  Anyway - as we said - every dollar helps.

cheers buddy
