IT490
« on: March 14, 2011, 06:02:07 pm »
The only modern (ish) bike in the shed at the moment is my '01 DR650SE.

Now, whilst it's a good thing, it doesn't really fit in with the other stuff I have which is all at least thirty years-old.

I feel the pull of a big, classic two-stoke thing with which I may trail ride and do a bit of adventure stuff on (yes I know the DR will do it better, but I do so little of it these days that I'm willing to wear a bit of discomfort for the few times I go out).

If anyone has a lead on an original IT490 (any year), I'd be most interested.

It doesn't have to be immaculate, just all there (all lights/indicators/electrical gear, if possible original plastics, tool bag and everything else pretty much original so as to enable registration).

Thanks
Paul

Happy to consider the 465 as well.

Might it be more difficult to find a nice 465 given they're a bit older?

A IT490 with a 465 YZ barrel and piston fitted and cut 50mm from the header pipe would be my hot tip.  ;)
