DR 400 Engine swap.
« on: March 09, 2011, 06:14:47 pm »
I'm being lazy and trying to cut corners here.
Would a 500 lump fit into a 400 frame?
I know the 400 frame is made of smaller dia tubing and I'm hoping it will be lighter, will only be ridden on DT so stresses won't be extreme.

That is a NO .... you require 380mm from foot pegs to front down tube and also taller by 38 mm.

I have cut a craddle from a Dr 500 and in the throws of grafting it to a PE 250/400 frame pretty much the same as  what I did to my DRM.   Costing me nothing but time as they where both destined as  scrap
