Not another waterpump question !!

Does anyone know if the waterpump/clutch cover casing from '93 cr 500's on fit earlier models (89)?
I believe the inlet and outlet pipes are slightly different, but does it bolt on with just some manipulation of hoses? or is there something else stopping it fitting.
The later versions are still avaliable from the states for about  $200 to the door, Brisbane honda quoted me just under $500 for the same part

No wuckers! any late model CR 500 cover will fit from 1987 on, be careful as the rear hose spiggot is vertical so a modified radiator hose is required to fit the 87 & 88's due too the close mounting of the high pipe. All others withthe low boy pipes will be fine.

Join CR500riders,, the parts link at the top of the page has a parts cross reference, it will tell all. That model didn’t have magnesium in the cases so I believe you can run coolant. PS CR500riders is a US site so Aussie’isum is lost there.
